Our communities are asking for a hand up, not a hand out.
Since our first international mission trip to an orphanage in Romania in 2000, our founders, Jean Kaye and Don Wilson, together with countless dedicated partners, volunteers, and supporters, have been united by a shared calling—to build lasting change in regions facing unimaginable poverty.
At H.E.L.P. International, we believe in creating long-term solutions for the communities we serve, not just quick fixes. Thanks to the collective efforts of our global family, we’ve shipped life-saving humanitarian aid, answered major disasters, supported education and vocational training, and planted seeds of sustainable development in communities once gripped by poverty.
Every act of service, every hand extended, and every gift shared has been part of something bigger—a story of compassion, faith, and accountability transforming lives and generations around the world.

Uganda:
Breaking the chains of poverty.
Education:
Building a brighter future.
Our passion for education runs deep because we have seen its power firsthand. In Uganda and around the world, we work from the grassroots level upward, helping children and families break the cycle of poverty through nursery, primary, secondary, university, and vocational training programs. Each stage opens new doors—to knowledge, to self-sufficiency, and to generational change.
Vocational Training:
Hands on Skills
Through skills training, mentorship, and faith-based guidance, H.E.L.P. International is shaping a new generation of leaders — young men and women who can earn a living, build sustainable communities, and believe in their God-given potential to transform the world around them.
When we teach skills, we don’t just change lives — we shape futures.
Daily Meals:
800 meals daily
A child cannot learn on an empty stomach. In Uganda, many of the children we serve come from single-parent families living on as little as 25 cents a day. For them, hunger is a daily battle and yet, they arrive at school with open hearts, ready to learn, to hope, and to dream.
That’s why we are committed to providing nutritious breakfasts and lunches each school day for our nursery and primary students. These meals are often the only dependable source of food they receive, giving them the energy and focus they need to learn, play, and grow
“Together we are empowering an entire generation with something no one can ever take from them – hope.”
— Jean Kaye, Founder & President, H.E.L.P. International
Additional Programs
Israel:
Empowering the Ethiopian Jewish community in Israel
In Israel, we partner with local leaders to create opportunity for the growing community of Ethiopian Jewish immigrants who have journeyed home to Israel seeking a better life. Many of these families face challenges as they adjust to a new language, culture, and economy often arriving with limited resources and few employable skills.
Our project focuses on vocational training and youth empowerment, providing practical tools that build confidence, dignity, and long-term stability.
Burkina Faso:
Building hope through education and skills training
In Burkina Faso, H.E.L.P. International brought clean, accessible water to families and students who once walked nearly five miles each day just to find water.
This Well became more than a source of water—it became a source of life, dignity, and hope, transforming the rhythm of daily life for the entire community.
Today, due to unrest in the country, we are pivoting toward vocational education to prepare the next generation for whatever comes.
H.E.L.P. @ Home
Giving hope to those in need close to home in Colorado
H.E.L.P.@HOME offers a hand up to those in our own communities. In partnership with both government and private agencies, we serve Weld, Larimer, and Boulder Counties in Colorado to provide clothing, household goods, medical equipment. and job training to individuals and families in need.
Each year, our Christmas Outreach Program delivers joy to many through holiday food baskets, gifts, and heartfelt support including shipments of supplies to the Lakota Sioux Reservation.
Travel with Purpose
Giving a hand up across the globe, expanding our footprint
Our mission is rooted in compassion, mutual respect, and shared growth. We believe true change happens when we come alongside others—learning from their culture, wisdom, and resilience—while offering the tools and opportunities needed to build brighter futures.
This spirit of partnership guides our work not only in Uganda, but across the globe. In 2026 we will be expanding outreach in Brazil, where we are joining hands with communities along the Amazon to support education, health, clean water and local empowerment initiatives.
About our Founders
Jean Kaye and Don Wilson are the founders of H.E.L.P. International, a humanitarian organization headquartered in Johnstown, Colorado, dedicated to bringing education, community development, and relief to some of the world’s most underserved regions.

What began with a single trip and a heart to serve has grown into a global movement of hope. Together, Jean and Don Wilson—joined by countless volunteers, mission teams, and faithful supporters—have built H.E.L.P. International into a ministry that reaches across more than 120 countries.
